Leslie Printis’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in a lifelong passion for visual expression, nurtured by her creative family and early experiences near the Philadelphia Museum of Art. With formal training from Pratt Institute, she developed a strong foundation in fine art that continues to inform her evolving work.
Her early focus on figurative painting explored the human form’s emotional depth, reflecting on both beauty and complexity. Prentis draws inspiration from everyday objects and moments, fascinated by light and shadow, influenced by Rembrandt’s chiaroscuro and Robert Mapplethorpe’s photography.
Recently, she has embraced collage and mixed media, combining colored papers to create dynamic figurative and abstract compositions. This shift marks a new chapter in her practice, reflecting her commitment to experimentation and continual artistic growth. Whether through painting, collage, or drawing, Printis pursues art as a journey of discovery and personal expression.
