Abigail, Danielle, and Sarah Hillman are three young sisters whose artistic journeys are deeply intertwined with their roots in the Bayview neighborhood. With the unwavering support and encouragement of their mother, Dee, the sisters share a studio at the historic Hunters Point Shipyard—a hub of artistic activity. Recognizing her daughters’ creative talents early on, Dee nurtured their development by securing a space where they could immerse themselves in a thriving artist community. As the youngest members of the Hunters Point Shipyard Artists, Abigail, Danielle, and Sarah are exploring their practices in an environment rich with inspiration, collaboration, and community engagement.

Danielle Hillman

Dancer. Writer. Artist. Whether on stage or behind a desk, Danielle uses her creativity to vibrantly express herself. She has taken up paint brush and pail to transform graffiti-riddled walls on Third Street shoulder to shoulder with fellow artists. At 14 years old, she launched her business to make black joy commonplace in Bayiew Hunters Point. With light and love, Danielle embraces her calling to transform the dark corners of our neighborhoods into bright, joy-filled moments.
